There is something I always enjoy about walking through a Ralph Lauren store. It isn’t just the individual pieces that catch my attention — it is the way everything is put together.
A jacket, a sweater, a shirt, a pair of trousers or a dress can look completely different when they are styled as part of a full outfit.
Recently, I came across several Ralph Lauren looks in the store that I particularly liked. I decided to recreate them with a digital Nuvovogue model to show the styling from a different perspective.
What I love about these five looks is that they each have a different personality, while still sharing that recognizable Ralph Lauren feeling: classic, polished, relaxed and beautifully layered.

1. The Cozy Cardigan and Denim Skirt
The first look immediately caught my attention because of its warm, sophisticated color palette.
The patterned cardigan combines shades of taupe, cream and brown, creating a beautiful fall feeling. Underneath, a simple button-down shirt keeps the look from becoming too busy.
Then comes the denim skirt, which makes the outfit feel much more relaxed and wearable.
I especially like the contrast between the cozy cardigan and the pointed brown heels. The cardigan says comfortable weekend, while the shoes add a more polished, feminine finish.
The cardigan is also tied at the waist, giving the otherwise relaxed silhouette a little more definition.
The styling idea: When you’re wearing a relaxed, oversized layer, defining the waist — even casually — can give the outfit a much more intentional shape.
2. Denim, Plaid and a Touch of Yellow
The second look has a completely different personality.
Here, a blue denim jacket is layered over a colorful plaid shirt, while dark brown pants ground the outfit. A pale blue baseball cap makes it feel casual and youthful.
But my favorite detail is the yellow sweater tied around the waist.
That little bit of yellow brings warmth to the combination of blue, brown and plaid. It also makes the outfit feel more styled without looking as though everything was carefully coordinated.
The brown pointed heels are another unexpected element. They keep the look from becoming too sporty.
The styling idea: One unexpected color or accessory can completely change a classic combination.
3. The Quilted Jacket and Navy Trousers
This look is probably the easiest to imagine wearing in everyday life.
The quilted jacket in warm camel has a classic, slightly preppy feel. Underneath, a blue shirt and striped knit add layers of color and texture.
The navy trousers keep everything grounded and create a beautiful contrast with the lighter jacket.
There is also something very Ralph Lauren about the combination of camel, navy, blue, cream and small touches of red and yellow.
Nothing is overly dramatic. Yet the outfit has plenty of personality.
I also like the way the shirt cuffs are visible beneath the jacket. Small details like that make layered outfits look more interesting.
The styling idea: You don’t need a lot of colors to make an outfit interesting. A few classic colors, combined with different textures and layers, can do the job beautifully.
4. The Polo Look With an Unexpected Twist
This might be the most playful look of the five.
The navy Polo top and tailored navy shorts create a sporty foundation. Then comes the soft green cable-knit sweater, casually draped over the shoulders.
A braided brown belt adds texture and defines the waist.
But what makes the outfit particularly interesting is the pointed brown heels.
Instead of making the look entirely sporty, the heels give it a polished, slightly unexpected finish.
This is a great example of how mixing different style categories can make an outfit more interesting.
You have sporty, preppy, feminine and classic elements all working together.
The styling idea: Don’t be afraid to combine something casual with something traditionally polished. Sometimes the contrast is what makes the outfit work.
5. The Romantic Floral Dress
And then there is the most feminine look of the group.
The dark floral dress is filled with rich autumnal colors — burgundy, navy, brown, muted green and touches of golden yellow.
The long sleeves and tiered skirt give it a romantic, almost vintage-inspired feeling, while the belt brings structure to the silhouette.
I particularly like the belt because it changes the way the dress falls. Rather than allowing the floral print and loose shape to dominate the outfit, the defined waist gives it a more polished proportion.
The brown pointed heels continue the warm color story without competing with the dress.
This is the kind of dress that can easily move from daytime to dinner simply by changing the accessories.
The styling idea: With a printed dress, you don’t necessarily need more statement pieces. Sometimes a simple belt and beautiful shoes are enough.
